Griffith teen to face court over alleged 70-metre burnout

An 18-year-old man is set to face court over alleged burnouts around Griffith’s residential areas.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command said the teenager, who is a P1 provisional driver, allegedly conducted a burnout on Curtin Street Griffith on 11 August.

Police allege witnesses and bystanders nearby were affected by the plumes of smoke created by the vehicle.

The driver and the vehicle were allegedly identified on Gillmartin Drive Griffith, where he allegedly conducted a 70-metre burnout.

Police were contacted and commenced an investigation into these matters.

Police allege the Griffith man was identified and is the vehicle’s registered owner. He was issued a court attendance notice to attend Griffith Local Court in October. His P1 provisional licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded for three months.
