Griffith man dies in Wagga hospital following forklift accident

A 75-year-old Griffith man has died at a Wagga hospital following a forklift accident.

According to NSW Police, at about 11:30 am on Monday (29 January), emergency services were called to a factory on Harward Road, Griffith, following reports a person had been injured at a worksite.

Police were told that a man, aged in his 70s, was believed to have been struck by a forklift.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was transported to Griffith Base Hospital, before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for further treatment.

About 5 pm yesterday (30 January), police received notification that the man had died at hospital. He has not been named by police.

The NSW Government workplace safety regulator, SafeWork NSW, were notified and will complete an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
