Griffith Base Hospital has welcomed Joanne Garlick as its newly-appointed interim general manager.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MHLD) announced Ms Garlick’s new role on Tuesday (27 June).
The experienced health leader said she looked forward to working in the Griffith community and “continue supporting the great work of the health care team”.
The former health services manager has a wealth of skills and experience, having held a range of senior-level management positions in her career.
This includes most recently her role as cluster manager for the Young, Harden, Boorowa and West Wyalong Health Services.
Ms Garlick has qualifications in nursing, health science and management. In 1996 she added to her extensive list of qualifications, graduating with a Masters of Management from University Western Sydney, Nepean.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District acting CEO Cara Bailey said she was pleased to announce Ms Garlick’s appointment.
“Joanne is an experienced health leader who has operationally managed our Hilltops Cluster for some years,” she said.
“She has strong skills in operationalising strategic directions for the MLHD to improve patient experience and patient outcomes.
“This position utilises Joanne’s wealth of clinical, operational and business management knowledge in ensuring support for sites to meet national standards and budget requirements.
“Joanne has been with the MLHD since 2014 and has an excellent understanding of the Murrumbidgee region and the priorities of our organisation.”
The newly appointed interim general manager will commence her new role at Griffith Base Hospital on Monday 4 July.
