Griffith Exies has long been known for its friendly, welcoming staff – and receptionist Olivia Zilotto is no exception.
The 24-year-old has been working at the club since June 2025 and has already built a reputation for making patrons feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door. But there’s more to Olivia than her warm smile – she’s also an avid reader with a passion for travel.
After recently getting to know Exies chef James Price, we thought we’d spend five minutes finding out more about Olivia, her role at the club and passions outside of work.
What’s your role at Exies?
I’m the back receptionist. I welcome patrons, sign them in and help wherever I’m needed.
How did you land this role?
It was really luck of the draw. I came in here one day and the next thing I knew I was being interviewed in the boardroom. I was offered the job and have loved it ever since.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Getting to know the patrons and working with such a great group of colleagues. I love the people I work with.
You’re known for being so welcoming. Does that come naturally or is it something you’ve had to work on?
It comes naturally. I’m sometimes a bit shy, but over the past year I’ve built up my confidence and now feel really comfortable dealing with customers.
How would you describe the patrons?
Most of our customers are really friendly. Every now and then you might come across someone who’s a bit difficult, but that’s part of the job.
How do you deal with difficult customers?
I just try to be patient, stay positive and keep smiling.
What do you recommend from the Exies menu?
I’d go for the chicken parmi as a main, followed by the red velvet cake for dessert.

Just looking at a parmi is sure to make you hungry. Photo: Griffith Exies Facebook.
What’s your background?
I was born and raised in Griffith. I went to Griffith North Public School before attending Wade High School.
You love travelling. What’s your dream destination?
I actually have two – America and England. I went to England when I was nine, and we also visited Scotland and Ireland. We saw a lot, but there’s still so much more I’d love to explore.
I’ve also dreamed of going to Disneyland since I was five. I’ve been to Disneyland Paris, but visiting the one in America is definitely on my bucket list.
Where are the best places you’ve already visited?
London and Fiji. Fiji was a wonderful family holiday.
As an avid reader, what’s your favourite book?
To Kill a Mockingbird. I also love the Twilight series, The Hunger Games series and Harry Potter.
What are your plans for the future?
I love working at Exies, but I’ve always dreamed of travelling more. That’s something I definitely plan to do one day.
