Elderly driver dies in single-vehicle crash

An 83-year-old woman died after the car she was driving hit a tree near Narrandera on Monday (23 September).

Police said emergency services were called to Settlers Road, Sandigo, around 20 km southeast of Narrandera, after the car left the roadway and struck a tree at about 1:30 pm.

Murrumbidgee Police District officers responded along with NSW Ambulance, who performed CPR, but the driver died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the crash has begun. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
