A driver has been charged following a single-vehicle crash in the Riverina late last year.
Emergency services were called to Byrnes Road, Harefield – between Junee and Wagga Wagga – at about 3 pm on Monday 3 November 2025, after a sedan left the road, entered a culvert and rolled.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the front-seat passenger – a 25-year-old man – for a fractured spine, sternum and nose.
The driver – a 41-year-old man – was also treated for spinal injuries.
They were taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and later airlifted to a Sydney hospital in serious conditions.
The rear passenger – a 42-year-old man – suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers from Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, on Friday 17 April, officers issued the 41-year-old man with a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm) and causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle.
He will appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on 24 June.
