Drive-thru coffee outlet Kickstart Expresso opened a store on the corner of Wagga Home Centre on Monday, its first location outside the ACT.

The Davis family, which runs cafes in Belconnen and Fyshwick, will now provide Sydney-based specialty roaster Toby’s Estate coffee, as well as fruit juices, toasties, sandwiches and muffins, to Wagga customers.

“Wagga’s a hardworking town, and we know how important it is to get a great coffee and homemade food without slowing down your day,” says Kickstart Expresso director Archie Davis.

“We’re proud and excited to bring our drive-thru cafe to the Riverina, offering quick service, country-style food and the coffee we are so well known for, all from the comfort of your car.”

Kickstart Expresso was founded in 2014 by the Davis family after Archie’s mum Liat, who had four sons, spotted a gap in the market for decent food and coffee that was accessible without having to get the kids out of the car.

“As you can imagine, trying to grab a coffee with four young boys running around wasn’t easy,” Archie said.

“That’s when Mum came up with the idea for a drive-thru coffee shop. A place where you can get good old-fashioned food and service and quality coffee, all from the convenience of your car.

“The kids can stay strapped in, you don’t have to brave the elements, and you can catch up on phone calls if you need. It’s the perfect place to kickstart your day.”

Kickstart Expresso provides toasties and muffins as well as coffee.

Drive-thru coffee is also provided in Wagga by Fast Lane, opposite the road at 120 Hammond Street. Wagga’s first Oporto (Portuguese Chicken) outlet will also be opening in that vicinity in June.

Archie says he’s proud that his company Kickstart Expresso has joined the Riverina market as it continues its journey of expansion.

The company is on the lookout for local staff to join the Wagga cafe, with positions available for baristas and cafe all-rounders in casual and full-time roles. Applicants must be 17 years and over and have their own transport to travel to and from work. Experience is necessary, though management will provide on-site training.

At 143 Hammond Ave, East Wagga Wagga (on the corner of the new Wagga Home Centre), Kickstart Expresso will be open Monday to Friday from 6 am – 2 pm, and Saturday from 7 am – noon. For more details, visit kickstartexpresso.com.
