A 19-year-old man has been charged over an alleged home invasion in Kooringal as police investigate a string of aggravated break-ins, home invasions and firearm-related incidents across the Riverina.
Police established Strike Force Arctis in September to investigate the incidents.
At about 11:30 pm on Saturday 5 September, officers were called to a home in Chifley Crescent, Kooringal, after reports of a home invasion.
Police were told three people, all dressed in black with their faces covered, allegedly forced their way into the home.
One of the trio was allegedly armed with a firearm and the group allegedly threatened a 23-year-old man inside the home.
They allegedly stole three bags containing household items before fleeing.
The 23-year-old man was not injured.
Police established a crime scene and began investigating the incident.
On Tuesday 8 September, officers were called to a nearby address after a large knife was found.
The knife was seized and forensically examined as part of the investigation.
Following inquiries, Murray River Police District officers arrested a 19-year-old man at a Crisp Street, Albury address at about 2:30 pm on Monday 14 September.
He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 5 on Tuesday 15 September, where bail was again refused.
He is due to appear in Albury Local Court on 10 November.
Police said investigations under Strike Force Arctis were continuing.
