“I love travelling and I’ve been around the area a couple of times now, performing at places like Wagga, Henty, and Gundagai. Now it’s West Wyalong and Cootamundra’s turn.

“The show is lots of stinky, silly fun for rotten children and their even stinkier parents. There will be a lot of slimy songs, gross-tastic gags for everyone to enjoy.”

Mark Trenwith (aka Mr SnotBottom) has performed on some of the biggest comedy stages in the country including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Despite all his success, he said there was no better feeling than giving families something to laugh about.

“The character began over a decade ago,” Mr Trenwith explained.

“At the time I was doing a lot of kids’ entertainment through schools as well as some stand-up comedy for a few years.

“I was asked, can you do something at this kid’s birthday party? I thought, oh yeah, maybe some balloon animals, or magic tricks, stuff like that. I put together my usual routine.

“The mother got back to me and said, ‘My kids want you to make lots of fart jokes.’

“I thought, yeah, whatever, I’ll make a couple of gross jokes. The mother got back to me again and said, ‘My son has told everyone you’re going to be making lots and lots of fart jokes.’

“I had to change my entire routine and rewrite everything. Here we are 13 years later and people, young and old still find it really funny.”

Mr Trenwith said some jokes transcended demographics and cultures and to this day he was surprised by what people found funny.

“You can get away with a lot as long as it’s a good joke,” he said.

“A fart itself isn’t funny, but the reason people laugh is because it’s a surprise. So if I can keep delivering these same ideas in a surprising way, so that they’re not what people expect, people will continue to laugh and find it funny.”
