Cootamundra Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) has advised motorists of changes in traffic conditions due to essential maintenance work.

The Hume Highway at Gundagai is set to undergo essential maintenance work from Thursday 21 November.

“Work will be carried out on a 1.25-kilometre section of the northbound travel lanes, to resurface the road and shoulders and upgrade the guardrail to provide a safer road,” said a Transport for NSW spokesperson.

“Work is expected to take four weeks to complete, weather permitting and it will be carried out Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm and on Saturday if required between 8 am and 1 pm.

“Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience.”

Maintenance work will involve the closure of a single lane with a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h, which will be in place for the safety of motorists and workers.

Motorists are advised to follow traffic control and signage directions and allow an extra five minutes of travel time.
