A body has been located in bushland near Murrumbidgee River during the search for a missing Victorian man.
Murrumbidgee Police District officers had been searching for the 27-year-old after his hire car was found damaged on Murrumbidgee River Road, Carrathool, about 50 km east of the Midwestern Highway intersection. A kangaroo was found dead nearby.
The man was reported missing to Victoria Police on 1 June, and inquiries were commenced into his whereabouts.
A new search commenced yesterday (23 July), with assistance from the NSW State Emergency Service, with the man’s body found in dense bushland near the Murrumbidgee River.
Initial inquiries indicate there are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
