Body found during search for man missing from Murrumbidgee

A body has been found during a search for a man reported missing from the Murrumbidgee area.

Police said the 62-year-old man was last seen in the Darlington Point area on Wednesday, 16 October.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were notified and began inquiries into his whereabouts.

Local police conducted an extensive land and water search with the SES, NSW Rural Fire Service, VRA Rescue NSW, and PolAir.

The land and water search continued on Friday (25 October), when a body was located.

While the body has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing man.

Initial inquiries suggest the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
