Appeal for information after a four-year-old boy injured in suspected hit-and-run near Albury

Murray River Police District are appealing for information from the public after a child was injured in a suspected hit-and-run near Albury.

Police said emergency services were called to Dick Road, Lavington, at about 7 am on Friday (10 January), after a child was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a four-year-old boy for a suspected head injury before he was taken to Albury Hospital for further treatment.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded, established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to the driver of a white Holden utility which was seen in the area around the time of the incident, as investigators believe they may be able to assist with investigations.

Police are specifically appealing to anyone with dashcam footage who might have been travelling between Racecourse Road and The Hume Highway at Lavington, as well as Guinea and McCauley streets, Albury, between 7 am and 7:15 am, or who saw a white Holden utility in the area, to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.
