The annual Griffith Spring Fest will kick off with a display of citrus sculptures in the main street from Sunday, 13 October, and the Medlog launch party starting at 5 pm on Friday, 18 October.

The festival will run until 27 October and also feature private gardens open to the public, bus tours and various events at local wineries and restaurants.

The launch party will take place at the Griffith Tourism Hub carpark, corner of Banna and Jondaryan avenues.

Griffith City Council events coordinator Izabella Apolloni said she was thrilled to have global logistics and supply chain operator Medlog as a major supporter of the family-friendly party.

“There will be plenty of local food vendors, including burgers by Alaina’s Kitchen, Riverina Kebabs, Rotary Club of Griffith East cooking the barbecue, Reggie’s Mexican food, Kim’s Roundabout coffee van, Roadie’s Donuts and of course the Ice Cream Van,” she said. ”Mobile bar the Perfect Pour will be serving local wine, beer and cocktails.”

Musical entertainment will be provided by local band Lolohea Brothers, who will take to the main stage. Brass band Phat Brass will also perform and wandering acrobats will roam through the crowds.

“The kids will have a blast with fun activities organised by Bunnings and council’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG),” Ms Apolloni said.

The Open Gardens entry tickets will be available to purchase at the launch party, as well as Spring Fest merchandise from the Visit Griffith tent. Local company Worm Tech will also be on site to chat and hand out giveaways.

From Sunday, 13 October, Griffith’s main street will be adorned by about 70 giant sculptures made from oranges, grapefruit and lemons.

Real Juice Company has donated more than 100,000 locally grown oranges in its 27th year staging the unique event. More than 700 volunteers will help put them together.
