The search is on for the customer who bought a division 1 winning lotto ticket from Turvy Top newsagency.
The winner of Saturday’s (21 June) ‘The Lott’ Lotto draw (game #4583) has won an unclaimed $2,222,222.23 prize and as of writing has not come forward.
The Lott wrote on social media, advising the winner to come forward.
“ATTENTION: Wagga Wagga, NSW Please help us find our missing Div One winner from Saturday Lotto draw (4583)!” the post reads.
“They purchased a winning entry from Turvey Tops Newsagency and have taken home a Division 1 prize of $2,222,222.23! Gamble Responsibly. Gamblers Help 1800 858 858.”
The lotto win is the first Div One winner in five years, according to Turvey Tops owner David Ritter.
“This is the first one in Wagga in five years, that was at the Lucky Crow outlet in the Wagga Marketplace about five years ago,” he said.
“It’s the first in eleven years that we’ve had here at Turvey Tops and the biggest in terms of size that we’ve ever had.
“It’s exciting to sell a Div 1 prize. It will definitely be life changing for the lucky person and we’re excited for them. We just hope that it’s one of our lucky customers who come here regularly. You’d always like to see a local, loyal regular win big.”
The lucky Wagga winner was one of only two in NSW/ACT to claim the $2.2 million prize and one of only nine in the entire country.
The winning numbers for the Saturday night draw were: 6, 24, 10, 42,1,30 and Supps were 18 and 16.
The win has caused a local social storm with many Wagga residents trying to find the winner.
“Imagine if this was a gift and you didn’t check it,” one user wrote.
“Please check your ticket, you don’t want to lose it!” another wrote.
According to the official Lotts site, Lottery and Instant Scratch-Its prizes must be claimed within six years after the draw date or Instant Scratch-Its game closure date.
