There’s so much to see and do this week in the regions, no matter what you’re in the mood for.

For live music and great food at a mini-festival, head to Albury for the inaugural Busk on the Border, which will bring folk together from across the Riverina to tune in and jam out to local tunes.

Something very special awaits at the Muttama Hall, where locals will get to be part of history in the making as they contribute their own pieces to the town’s time capsule.

All this and more across the Riverina region; read on for the best events happening this week.

Saturday

Busk on the Border

Busk on the Border

When: 28 June, 10 am to 3 pm
Where: QEII Square, Dean St, Albury
Cost: Free.

Busk on the Border is a showcase of the region’s artistic and musical talent, as well as a meeting of the whole community in a family-friendly environment.

This mini-festival will feature a schedule of 30-minute performances from street performers, entertainers and musicians alongside a huge selection of food trucks, culinary vendors, artisan stalls, handmade goods and cultural showcases. There will also be a jackpot prize open for entry.

Head to QEII Square for a day of great food, local tunes and handmade artisanal goods.

Kate Ceberano Australian Made Tour 2025

Kate Ceberano has four decades of experience in the music industry and has spent those years perfecting her style. This week she’s bringing her talent to Albury where she will perform her own platinum hit songs alongside other songs from artists that have inspired her throughout the years such as Silverchair, John Farnham, The Models and more. This performance will be stacked with Aussie rock classics as well as Ceberano’s own big hits – don’t miss out.

The Coal Miner’s Daughter is a celebration of the life of the late Loretta Lynn, following her life from early days in the hills of Kentucky to her difficult marriage, along with tragic losses and musical bonds she shared with musical talents of her day, such as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson.

This musical retelling of a now-classic tale of a rise to fame is only playing for one night at the Griffith Regional Theatre.

Half On The Hill – Half marathon around John Piccoli Reserve

When: 29 June, 9 to 11:30 am
Where: John Piccoli Reserve, Doolan Crescent (Top of Ted Scobie Oval), Griffith
Cost: Entry $30. Register online.

The Yenda Prods Half On The Hill is a half marathon going around the beautiful John Piccoli Reserve. The 21.1 km track is a great chance for training runners or amateurs who want to get out there and participate in a local half marathon for individuals or teams of two.

For young runners, there is also a 4 km juniors event for those under 16 who want to participate in the action.

Muttama Hall Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony

When: 29 June, noon to 2 pm
Where: Muttama Memorial Hall, Muttama
Cost: Free.

Join the Muttama community for this very special ceremony that cements and records the state of the area today for the generations of tomorrow. Locals are invited to contribute a small piece of family history to be preserved for future generations, whether that be photos, drawings, written messages, memorabilia, historical objects or symbols of community and place. As long as they fit into an A4 envelope (one per family).

Hamish Tait Piano Solo Riverina Conservatorium of Music

Where: Riverina Conservatorium of Music, 1 Simmons Street, Wagga Wagga
Cost: Free.

Pianist Hamish Tait plays a full solo concert featuring some of the most beloved classical composers such as Beethoven and Bach. Through Sonatas No. 5 and 6, Opus 10/1 and 10/2, along with JS Bach’s Partita No. 1 in B-flat Major, BWV 825, Tait demonstrates the dynamic contrast and emotion present in the work of some of history’s best composers. Don’t miss out on this rich exploration of the classical piano in action.

Eighty minutes of action-packed circus fun awaits at the Harrington Circus show this Thursday. Come one, come all for international performers, death-defying stunts, astonishing acrobatics, aerial manoeuvres to shock and excite, along with a troupe of clowns.

As if that wasn’t enough, there will also be plenty of magic tricks, fair food, rides and a sideshow. Don’t miss out on all the in-your-face fun of the circus coming to Narrandera.
