Female driver, child taken to Wagga hospital after school bus crash near Ladysmith

A female bus driver and a primary school-aged child have been rushed to Wagga hospital after an accident involving a school bus and a truck near the small town of Ladysmith on Wednesday afternoon (4 June).

The accident occurred on the intersection of Gregadoo-Ladysmith Road and Tumbarumba Road at around 3:20 pm.

“NSW Ambulance were on the scene just after 3:30 pm after reports of an accident involving a school bus and truck,” a NSW Ambulance spokesperson told Region.

“We assessed 12 patients at the scene, including the driver of each vehicle.

“The female driver of the school bus was in her 30s and sustained head and shoulder injuries and was transported to Wagga Base Hospital.

“A male primary school-aged child was also transported to Wagga hospital. Both were in a stable condition.”

There were no other people taken to hospital and no other injuries. NSW Police also arrived on the scene.

Roads are now open to traffic in both directions.
