A 44-year-old man fronted court on Wednesday (4 June) charged with a number of firearm and prohibited weapon offences, following the search of a property in Tumut.
At about 10 am on Tuesday, officers attached to Riverina Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Gadara Place.
Police seized one shortened firearm, three rifles, seven gel blaster rifles, eight gel blaster pistols, ammunition, gel blaster ammunition, seven prohibited knives – including three zombie knives, cannabis seeds and capsules believed to be MDMA.
At about 12:10 pm on Tuesday, a 44-year-old man was arrested at Tumut Police Station.

He was charged with 16 offences:
- possessing an unauthorised firearm (three counts)
- possessing an unregistered firearm-pistol (two counts)
- possessing an unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm (two counts)
- possessing more than one unregistered firearm
- using an unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm (three counts)
- possessing ammunition without holding a licence or permit or authority
- possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit
- possessing a shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority
- using, supplying, acquiring or possessing a defaced firearm; and
- possessing a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
