Young people in Leeton will be able to do one-off free courses in alcohol and gambling service, barista skills, workplace safety, resume writing and first aid during Youth Week (between 9 and 17 April).
Leeton Shire Council will be offering the NSW Government-funded training and workshop opportunities, which are aimed at equipping young people with important skills for the future.
All activities are open to those aged between 12 and 24. The following are being offered:
Barista Course at Leeton Museum and Art Gallery | Monday 7 and Thursday 10 April
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Course at Western Riverina Community College (WRCC) | Wednesday 9 April
Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) Course at Yanco All Serviceman’s Club | Thursday 10 April
Whitecard Course (construction site workplace safety) at Western Riverina Community College (WRCC) | Tuesday 15 April
Cover Letter and Resume Writing Workshop and Basic Banking with NAB at Leeton Shire Library | Tuesday 15 April
First Aid Course at Western Riverina Community College (WRCC) | Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 April

Please note the Cover Letter and Resume Writing and Basic Banking Workshop (15 April) does not require bookings.
Councillor and portfolio lead for youth, Sandra Nardi, said this year’s Youth Week theme was “We are the future, and the future is now!”
“The free courses on offer are designed to equip young people with important skills, whether it’s to enter the job market, develop new abilities or better prepare themselves for the future,” she said.
“Spots are limited and we encourage those interested to book in as soon as possible.”
