Join Alliance Francaise de Wagga as it celebrates Wagga’s very own Fete de la Musique with fun karaoke, french music and delicious food.
Each year, on 21 June, music takes over the streets of Paris. Parks, courtyards, metro stations and street corners are transformed into impromptu stages for live performances by bands, DJs, musicians and singers – amateur and professional alike! Why? To “faites de la musique” (make music); everyone is encouraged to make music, exposing others to and celebrating the joy of music. First held in France in 1982, Fete de la Musique is now celebrated in more than 750 cities across 120 countries, including Australia.

On the longest night of the year, Survivors of Suicide and Friends host the Winter Solstice, an event that brings the community together in commemoration of those who have died by suicide. Guest speakers this year include poet Nam Le, former Australian rules football coach and player Danielle Laidley, and mental health advocate and television and radio journalist Osher Gunsberg. There will be live performances by local artists Paul Dyanson and Eliza Hull.
