Wagga’s very own wedding expo returns this weekend offering more than 40 stalls for couples to peruse before their big day.
The event will be held at the Range Function Centre on Sunday 30 July and event organiser Jasmine Imber has promised a variety of stalls showcasing dresses, jewellery, photography, stationery, food and more.
“It’s going to be a fantastic event for future brides and grooms to come down and experience a wide range of options for all the different aspects of their future wedding,” Jasmine said.
“There will be a fashion show on the day that will showcase several dresses from my personal collection.
“There will also be prizes awarded every 30 minutes and 200 goodie bags for the first 200 people to attend the expo.”
Event sponsors Erica Jewellers, Imber Couture, Wagga Photobooth and MH Photography will all be displaying each of their services on the day.
Jasmine said the event was a perfect way for couples who were getting married to meet vendors before choosing what fitted best.
“So many couples now browse the internet or social media and that is how they choose what they want,” Jasmine said.
“I think making decisions like that online loses some of the personal feelings.
“Being able to know what you’re getting and from what service you’re getting it from is something I think is really important.”
Jasmine said the expo also allowed for new and smaller businesses that got overlooked a chance to appeal to planners.
“By providing stalls and allowing vendors to show off their products and their skills, it really does give them a chance to appeal to couples,” Jasmine said.
“Often you will hear newlyweds say they heard about something through their friends and family or that they chose something that they knew or recognised. That doesn’t always provide the best results; by seeing a number of different vendors in person, it really does open up a few suggestions and ideas.”
Despite the expo normally being held once every six months, Jasmine believed reverting it to an annual fixture wold provide a better experience for everyone involved.
“Covid really killed some of the momentum, not just for the expo but a lot of weddings got postponed or cancelled,” Jasmine said.
“This year there has been a lot of interest from vendors; we have actually struggled a little fitting everyone into the venue.
“We are hoping to see a bunch of people come down and enjoy the expo and see what is on offer.”
