Australia’s most talented craft designers and experts are converging on Wagga for three huge days of classes, demonstrations and shopping.
CraftAlive is Australia’s largest and longest running craft event series and holds events all around the country.
The event will be back in Wagga with the chance to win a massive door prize.
CraftAlive event manager Sally Taylor said it felt brilliant to be offering a quilting and crafting room valued at $33,000 to the Wagga event.

“It is the first time that a prize of this significance has been offered and we are delighted to be able to offer that opportunity,” Ms Taylor said.
Ms Taylor said the event brought together the sewing and craft community in the region to share their knowledge, experiences and passion for the craft.
Over 2000 craft enthusiasts are expected to attend the three-day event from across the region.

“We’ve been coming to Wagga for many, many years and this will be first time since 2019 we will be back,” Ms Taylor said.
“The interest and the excitement for the event are amazing.
“It is huge and a wide range of different crafts all under one roof for three days.”
Ms Taylor said the event was hands-on, with a huge emphasis on classes and learning that were for all abilities and ages.

“Whether you’re new to craft, maybe you’ve picked up something up over the last couple of years and actually wanted to go and do a hands-on class in person, or maybe you’re a very experienced crafter and just want to mingle with like-minded … there’s something for everybody,” she said.
“We have over 100 classes at this event. Retailers feature craft supplies, kits and equipment across a wide range of crafts, from traditional to modern.”
Classes will be running across the three days, and include fabric painting, free motion quilting, applique, felting, kokedama workshops, card making, scrapbooking, sashiko, hand and machine embroidery. Papercraft retailers and yarn, sewing, quilting and patchwork suppliers will also be at the event.
Ms Taylor said that at one of the previous events they had three generations of craft lovers.
“Granddaughter, mother and grandmother came through and each of them had their own interest.
“They all loved crafts and had specific crafts they wanted to do.”
CraftAlive Wagga is set to run from 31 March to 2 April at The Range Function Centre. Doors will be open from 9:30 am to 4 pm daily.
To enter the competition, attendees are to purchase their tickets online. Every ticket purchased is entered into the major prize draw.
