A man has been charged with drug and weapon offences following an investigation in Wagga Wagga.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District stopped a vehicle on Lae Avenue in Ashmont for random testing at about 8:30 pm on Saturday (7 January).
Police allege the driver, a 35-year-old woman, returned a positive roadside drug test.
Checks revealed the passenger, a 41-year-old man, was subject to a Firearms Prohibition Order.
In a search of the vehicle police allegedly uncovered prescription medication and more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Both were arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station, where they were released pending further inquiries.
Police seized the vehicle and electronic devices and located additional prohibited drugs allegedly concealed inside the vehicle.
Following inquiries, police arrested the man on Lae Avenue in Ashmont at about 10 am yesterday (13 February).
Police then executed a Firearms Prohibition Order search at a home on Poulton Street in Ashmont, where they seized cannabis, steroids and a flick knife.
The man was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and using a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
He was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court On Tuesday 14.
