Sharon Longmore has dedicated over three decades of her life and career to serving her community to the fullest.
The Junee Hospital assistant in nursing (AIN) recently celebrated 35 years of service to her patients and the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).
Sharon’s career with MLHD began as a cleaner, then as a wards person and then she became an assistant in nursing after she completed her studies in 2010.
“I started back as a cleaner back in 1987 and just loved the environment,” Sharon said.
“Then we needed wards people, so I did that while I was studying for my AIN’s.
“I just love working with the oldies … they are insightful and very funny at times,” she said.
Sharon said she enjoyed her work and investing quality time with the patients she cared for each day.
“I feel fortunate to be working with such a fantastic bunch of people, we all just get on with the doing and make sure our people are well taken care of,” Sharon said.
“Sometimes it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference,” Sharon said.
MLHD congratulated Sharon for celebrating 35 years in the service.
“Sharon is loved by her colleagues and patients alike,” MLHD said in a statement.
Junee Hospital Nurse Manager Carly Silberberg also congratulated Sharon on her milestone earlier this month.
“Thirty-five years in the health service is no easy feat – and Sharon’s skills, care and lovely personality really do shine through,” Carly said in a statement.
“We thank her for her dedication and contribution to the team, her patients and to MLHD over the past 35 years.”
