Pilot dies after plane crashes into Riverina paddock

A man has died following a plane crash in the Riverina.

At about 11 am on Wednesday (5 November), emergency services were called to a paddock on Nullagong Road, near the Cobb Highway, about 30 km north of Hay to reports of an ultra-light plane crash.

NSW Ambulance responded and commenced CPR on a 39-year-old male with serious injuries. He was the sole occupant of the plane.

He was taken to Hay Hospital in a critical condition, before being flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District responded and established a crime scene.

Police have since been informed the pilot died later that same day.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
