A man in Griffith was placed behind bars after an argument on Banna Avenue allegedly escalated to the point he swung a knife.

At about 10:08 pm on Halloween on Friday (31 October), police will allege they located the 49-year-old man on Banna Avenue after reports from members of the public about a verbal argument between the suspect and another man.

Police will allege witnesses contacted triple zero after seeing the suspect produce a 20 cm knife and approach the other man chasing him, whilst swinging or slashing the knife.
