Two men wearing face masks charged with stealing from Tharbogang Tip

Two men have been charged with stealing from the Tharbogang Waste Management Centre (the Griffith tip).

At about 10:20 pm on Monday (28 October), police were conducting patrols in the vicinity of Tharbogang tip following recent reports of trespass and theft.

At 10:30 pm, police will allege they sighted a Silver Nissan Navara with surgical face masks covering the registration plates. At the time, the vehicle was within the Tharbogang landfill facility.

Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the two males, who were also wearing face masks.

Police will further allege they located a red pushbike and a sewing machine within the Toyota, which had been taken from the landfill facility by the two suspects.

The duo were arrested and taken back to Griffith Police Station, where they were charged with stealing and entering enclosed lands.
