A police officer charged over allegedly possessing child abuse and bestiality material will face Albury Local Court next month.
In July 2025, officers attached to Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Norpa following a referral from the Australian Federal Police.
Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a property in the state’s south on Monday 15 September 2025.
During the search, detectives located and seized electronic devices, a gel blaster and ammunition.
Following further inquiries, a 26-year-old man – a constable attached to a Southern Region Command – was issued a Future Court Attendance notice last week.
He was charged with possessing a child abuse data-use carriage service, being a person possessing bestiality material, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm and intentionally publishing protected information.
He is due to appear before Albury Local Court on Wednesday 19 November 2025.
The officer is suspended from duty with pay, and his employment status is under review.
