Man dies after house fire in Temora

An investigation is underway after a fatal house fire in Temora on the weekend.

At around 6:30 pm Saturday (11 October), emergency services were called to Gallipoli Street following reports of the blaze.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended the scene and located an 81-year-old man with significant burns and a fire in the kitchen.

Flames were extinguished by police and family members prior to Fire and Rescue NSW attendance.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
