Urana Vintage Machinery Rally

Urana’s Vintage Machinery Rally is a two-day event all about historic machines, vehicles and engines, with a lot for gearheads and enthusiasts to get excited for.
There will be Kenworths, Caterpillars, Chryslers and Villiers on display as well as a Tractor Trek from 9 am on Saturday, engine displays and tractor pulls, while Sunday will have a truck show and a full fete with coffee, a barbecue, ice cream, cakes, food stalls and free kids activities.

West Wyalong Hearts Of Gold Festival

The Hearts of Gold Festival is bringing heaps of activities and entertainment for the whole family across a full weekend of fun. The festival starts off with the Saturday celebration on the main street, with markets, shopping, music, food stalls, roving entertainment and even a petting zoo, with no tickets required to join the fun. Then on Saturday night, the festival changes tune, with rides, food vans and fireworks.
And on Sunday it’s all about kids, with foam, slime, a colour run and obstacle courses at McAllister Oval.

Myths of the Green Beetle – Exhibition at the Station Creative Space

This exhibition at the Station Creative Workspace is all about visual storytelling and the art of communicating an idea and emotion through shadow theatre. Inspired by the medieval Egyptian tradition of Khayal al-Zill shadow theatre, this exhibition brings together drawings, lino prints and shadow puppets created by Dr Sam Bowker for the Green Beetle Company.
Myths of the Green Beetle is a great chance to see what visual storytelling can do, bringing tales to life where words may fail. It’s also a fascinating addition to a rich tradition of Arab storytelling, satire and art.

Griffith is celebrating the Citrus Sculptures and Open Gardens with a street party.
There will be plenty of games, entertainment and kids’ activities to keep you busy as the street comes alive among the sculptures, which are now an established and much-loved part of the Griffith cultural scene.

This solo concert tour is a musical experience using a dialogue between the audience and the performer. Diesel is inviting the audience to shape the night by submitting requests for the songs they want to hear across his entire discography from Johnny Diesel & The Injectors(1989) through to Bootleg Melancholy (2023).
This performance will change how you see the audience’s role in the creation of music and it will be performed with Diesel’s signature skill on guitar, double bass and vocals.

Freedom of Entry Parade – RAAF Base Wagga 85th Anniversary
When: 18 October, 10:55 am to 12:15 pm
Where: Baylis Street, Wagga Wagga
Cost: Free.
RAAF Base Wagga will exercise its Freedom of Entry to Wagga to commemorate 85 years since the establishment of the base, which has become a staple in the Wagga community.
This is a rarely performed military tradition, showing the bond between the defence forces and the town that hosts them, with plenty of martial culture, pageantry, community spirit, uniforms and decorations.
There will be uniformed men and women on parade, marching to the tune of the RAAF band – don’t miss out.

Illabo Vintage Speedway Meet

Where: Illabo Motorsport Park, Illabo Showground Rd, Illabo

The Illabo Vintage Speedway Meet is a great day out, with plenty of races and spectacle for car enthusiasts.
There will be vintage speed cars, compacts, modified, sprint cars, rear-engine F500s, among other categories. The vintage speedway events only happen four times a year and race spectating is open for each event for all members of the public, so don’t miss out on this great chance to watch some beautiful machines up close and loud.
