A man and woman will front court to face more than 60 charges between them after drugs and cash were allegedly seized during a search warrant executed in Young.
Between August and October, officers attached to The Hume Police District commenced an investigation under Strike Force Hourgla into reports of alleged drug related offences in the Young area.
Following inquiries, at about 9:20 am on Wednesday (1 October), police executed a search warrant at a home on Nasmyth Street where they allegedly located and seized mobile phones, an amount of cannabis, 43 grams of psilocybin – more commonly referred to as “magic mushrooms”, 12.5 methylamphetamine tablets and one gram of methamphetamine.
A 29-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were arrested at the address and taken to Young Police Station.
There, the woman was charged with 56 offences, including supplying a prohibited drug (46 counts); supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis (three counts); possessing a prohibited drug (four counts); supplying a prohibited drug in excess of the commercial quantity; supplying a prohibited drug at more than the indictable and commercial quantity; and possessing or attempting to prescribe a restricted substance.
She was refused bail and appeared before Local Bail Division Court 5 on Thursday (2 October).
The man was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug more than or equal to the commercial quantity and supplying a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared at Local Bail Division Court 5 on Thursday (2 October), where he was further refused bail to appear before Young Local Court on 3 December.
