Wagga residents are invited to spend the day with regional performance artist Rhae Kendrigan on 21 September at Bibbaringa Regenerative Farm.
Based in Mildura, Rhae engages the audience and their environment in their art performances, and will be in Wagga Wagga Art Gallery from 15 to 28 September after spending two weeks to develop their craft at a regenerative farm.
Wagga Wagga Art Gallery will be hosting Rhae in the E3 Artspace as part of the partnership residency between Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and Earth Canvas, an organisation linking artists with regenerative farmers in southern NSW.
They work across regional Victoria and NSW, and have been engaging audiences with live performances since 2013.
Each year an artist is chosen to take part in the partnership residency, with Rhae being the recipient of the 2025 Regional Artist Development (RAD) x Earth Canvas Artist.
Rhae’s unique performance art style is grounded in a deep connection to landscape through Body Weather training, a comprehensive training and performance practice that helps develop someone’s connection between their body and the environment.

Drawing on their training, Rhae’s residency aims to show a deep connection to nature and investigates how movement can reflect and support sustainable landscapes.
Rhae’s work as a practising artist explores the connection between body and nature, and they have been working for grassroots communities.
Their social enterprise Regenerative Communities offers creative and regenerative community development services to regional artists and organisations.
Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Director Dr Lee-Anne Hall said that during the residency the artist had spent two weeks on a regenerative farm and they would be at the gallery to craft an immersive experience for participants.
“Rhae has spent two weeks immersing themself in the landscape at Bibbaringa Regenerative Farm, which is located between Albury and Holbrook,” Dr Hall said.
“From Monday 15 September, Rhae will then come to the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery for two weeks where they will work from the E3 Artspace where visitors can come and meet them and learn about their experience on the farm.”
Rhae Kendrigan will be working from Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s E3 Artspace for two weeks from Monday 15 to Sunday 28 September.
They will be facilitating an on-farm workshop at Bibbaringa Regenerative Farm in Bowna on 21 September from 11 am to 4:30 pm. For more information or to make a booking at $35 per person, visit Wagga Art Gallery.
Pariticpants are invited to spend the day engaging in a series of gentle, reflective activities designed to deepen their connection with the natural world and the regenerative landscape of the farm with Rhae, including walking and movement, meditation, quiet observation, listening and responding to nature and exploration of different habitats within the property.
