A 25-year-old man will appear in court today (30 January) following the alleged discovery of more than 90 kg of cannabis during a vehicle stop in the Riverina.
Police said that during patrols along the Hume Highway in Tumblong, Riverina Police District officers sighted a Toyota Kluger travelling north at about 12:45 pm on Wednesday (29 January).
Officers stopped the Toyota for the purpose of random testing and spoke with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized 92 kg of cannabis in vacuum-sealed bags, mobile phones and $860 cash.
The driver was arrested and taken to Gundagai Police Station where he was charged with supplying prohibited drug – commercial quantity.
He was refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
